GSMA Nominates BroadForward EIR for Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough
BroadForward Next Generation EIR brings device authentication and network protection to the next level, protecting operators and subscribers in a hyper-connected mobile world with billions of smart phones and IoT devices.
Amersfoort, Netherlands, January 26, 2019 --(PR.com)-- The GSMA announced today that the BroadForward Next Generation Equipment Identity Register (NG EIR) is nominated for the Global Mobile Awards (GLOMOs) in the category Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough. This is the 4th time core network signaling vendor BroadForward has been nominated by the GSMA for Best Mobile Technology.
The winner in this category will be announced on February 26th during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the world's largest annual exhibition for the mobile industry. The 2019 GLOMO Awards ceremony will be hosted by TV presenters Remel London and Larry Madowo.
The BroadForward Next Generation EIR is a multi-protocol software solution, used by leading operators to protect their mobile networks against device theft and fraud. The NG EIR provides vital functionality required to establish the authenticity of a device in a multi-technology, hyper-connected era. Suspect devices can consequently be blocked or monitored. Unlike legacy EIR solutions that are specifically built for 2G networks, the BroadForward NG EIR can obtain almost any content from systems across 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G networks to determine if a device is legitimate.
Taco Schoute, CEO of BroadForward commented: “We are very proud that the GSMA has recognized the technology advances that the BroadForward NG EIR brings to detect and close the device related security gaps in the mobile network ecosystem. Criminals have been able to exploit these for shortcomings for decades. In the 5G hyper-connected world, device security will be high priority. This important to protect operators’ brand image and revenues, and vital for the success of the Digital Economy.”
