HCA/HealthONE’s Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center Opens New Infusion Center

Denver, CO, January 24, 2019 --(PR.com)-- HCA/HealthONE’s Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center is pleased to open its new Infusion Center. The new center offers 21 adult patient rooms - 11 infusion bays, five private rooms and five dedicated apheresis (the removal of blood including red blood cells, plasma and stem cells for treatment and harvesting) rooms.

Infusion therapy is used to treat acute and chronic diseases that require intravenous treatments including chemotherapy, blood products, apheresis and other IV treatments in an outpatient setting. Blood transfusions may be necessary for patients with a severe infection or liver disease that prohibits the body from properly making blood or some parts of blood or patients with anemia such as kidney disease or cancer.

The center provides the following safe and convenient infusion services in an outpatient setting:

- Antibiotics
- Biotherapy
- Bisphosphonate Infusions
- Blood Product Administration
- Chemotherapy
- Electrolyte Repletion
- Fluid Replacement
- Intravenous Immunoglobulins (IVIG)

In addition to infusion-related services, the center offers apheresis experts on staff to perform:

- Therapeutic plasma exchange
- Cell collection for stem cell transplant and CAR-T manufacturing
- White blood cell (WBC) depletion
- Photopheresis for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) as well as graft vs. host disease
