Padmore Culture Curates a Collection That Celebrates Black Voices
Padmore Culture launches a curated collection of books and merch by black authors and artists
Miami, FL, January 31, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Padmore Culture launches an eclectic mix of books of celebrated black authors and merchandise from artists in a collection titled Black Voices. The collection starts off with the publication of three Slaves Narratives, edited and designed with a more agile and modern take for contemporary audiences. The lives of activist Frederick Douglas, women right’s advocate Sojourner Truth and Harriet Jacobs’ struggle for freedom are captured in these inspirational portraits.
The company, which prides itself on creating books and unique literary gifts, presents this collection as a perfect way to pair books with merchandise to celebrate Black History Month and all it represents.
“We are thrilled to showcase the work of designer Viveca Batiste whose designs for this collection enhances black voices,” says Angela Mosley, Editor of Special Projects at Padmore Culture. “Her passion and dedication to making the work speak for itself are truly inspirational.”
Padmore Culture’s mission for the Black Voices Collection is to highlight the beauty and importance of the African Culture and the African-American community, its achievements, its spokespersons, its authors, its ethnic pride.
But the collection is not intended only for the African-American community as explained by the company: “Only by introducing ourselves and immersing ourselves in other cultures, we become real global citizens. Only by reading about and surrounding ourselves with items from other cultures, we can brighten our minds with a whole world of possibilities.”
As part of Padmore Culture’s mission to showcase diversity, a percentage of the proceeds from the sales of the Black Voices Collection will be donated to the We Need Diverse Books Organization, an initiative that brings the opportunity to explore diverse author’s books to classrooms every month of the school year.
Photos and additional information available to the press. Both national and international press are invited to cover this Collection.
