Singapore Management University (SMU) Partners with IMAA to Provide Best Practices in Mergers & Acquisitions Education
New York, NY, January 31, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Singapore Management University (SMU) and the Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances (IMAA) announced a new collaboration that aspires to set new standards of learning within the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) landscape in South East Asia. This partnership aims to make global best practices in M&A available to a wider audience in the region, with the launch of the International Mergers & Acquisitions (IM&A) Expert programme.
The IM&A Expert programme offers participants a comprehensive end-to-end understanding of the M&A process, from strategy and valuation to execution and post-merger management. Developed by IMAA and its faculty members in a multiyear effort, the 4-day programme is taught by leading academics with practical knowhow and M&A industry experts with significant experience in local and cross-border transactions. Participants who have successfully completed the programme will receive a IM&A certification
“This newly launched programme is highly interactive and practical, offering a unique blend of academic theory and real-world insights,” said Dr. Katharina Lange, Executive Director, SMU Executive Development.
“Our cooperation is great next step for companies seeking new growth and the M&A community as a whole in the region,” added Prof. Christopher Kummer, president of IMAA. “We are honored to partner with SMU, a premier university in Asia that is internationally recognized for its world-class research and distinguished teaching.”
With the programme, both institutions aim to enhance the M&A capabilities of professionals and companies. Participants will be equipped with the knowledge and foundation to leverage M&A as a strategic capability that delivers successful business outcomes. In addition to open enrollment programs, companies will be able to benefit from an in-house version or tailored training in this field.
“We will be able to offer programmes for companies interested to expand by acquisitions in any region of the world. SMU Executive Development, which delivers interdisciplinary and experiential learning for executives, and IMAA, which possesses the international expertise in M&A, offer clients and prospects a holistic value proposition with this new initiative,” added Dr. Lange.
The first joint open programme will be hosted from March 6 – 9, 2019 in Singapore.
