Patient Care Technician at HCA/HealthONE’s North Suburban Medical Center Helps Local Family in Need
Thornton, CO, February 14, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Lacey Campbell, a patient care aid with North Suburban Medical Center was recognized for going above and beyond to care for a local family.
Campbell was caring for a family with a newborn baby who had recently been the victim of a home robbery. The robbery had left the family without the new clothing and other baby items they had purchased to welcome their new baby. Upon learning this, Campbell, a new mom herself, decided to take action and donated several bags of clothing to the family, including a brand new breast pump system.
To honor and recognize this contribution and great display of empathy, North Suburban’s senior leadership team honored Campbell by presenting her with the “Patient Experience Employee of the Month” award.
“You know that our mission is to care and improve lives... and you did that for someone,” said Angie Voigt, chief nursing officer at North Suburban Medical Center. “That’s what it’s all about!”
Campbell is a great team player and often fulfills many different roles at North Suburban. In addition to providing care to patients, she is also a certified car seat technician and helps families with proper car seat installations, and helps new parents with their birth certificate forms.
“I just really enjoy helping people,” said Campbell in response to the recognition. “I know that I am very fortunate, and if I can help, I will.”
As a Patient Care Technician at North Suburban, Campbell cares for patients in the Women’s Services and Pediatric floors, and has been with North Suburban for the past eight years. Prior to being a patient care technician, Campbell served as a volunteer in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at North Suburban for two years.
“I always describe Lacey as the patient care technician extraordinaire,” said Shawna Morrison, manager of pediatrics at North Suburban. “She does so much for us, our patients and our community.”
In 2018, North Suburban introduced the Patient Experience Employee of the Month award and several staff members have been recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty to serve patients. Award-winners are recognized by senior leaders and their peers and are featured in a number of ways including adding their photo and story next to the visitor elevators at North Suburban.
