Nine Local Bands Join Forces in Mean Dog Music's Charity Jam Benefiting Special Olympics Ohio
Local bands Bad Influence, County Line Junction, Dysfunctional Family, The EM-50 Project, Love Gravy, Radio Surfers, Smugglin’ Yo-Yos, Tense, and Warped Minds will play to raise money for a worthy cause.
Columbus, OH, March 26, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Nine bands from Central Ohio have joined forces to put on a concert event called "Mean Dog Music’s Charity Jam 2008” that will raise money to benefit Special Olympics Ohio (SOOH). The benefit event will take place on April 12, 2008, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 AM at Whiskey Dick’s, 2690 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio.
The bands generously donating their time to perform at Charity Jam 2008 are: Bad Influence, County Line Junction, Dysfunctional Family, The EM-50 Project, Love Gravy, Radio Surfers, Smugglin’ Yo-Yos, Tense, and Warped Minds. Two of the bands, Dysfunctional Family and Warped Minds, are comprised of band members that range in age from 13 to 17 years old and are actively playing venues in the Central Ohio area.
Other highlights of the day will include the appearance of Sue Leighton, well-known deejay for local radio station Mix 97.1, who has agreed to emcee the event. An auction will be held throughout the evening as well, with all proceeds from the sale of donated items going to SOOH.
Advance tickets to the event can be purchased through Mean Dog Music Promotion’s website at meandogmusic.com. All proceeds from advance ticket sales and the door cover price on the day of the event will go to SOOH.
Mean Dog Music Promotion (MDM) is a music promotion company that represents local bands and musicians in the Central Ohio area. Seeing the desire of many of its musicians and bands to give back to their community, MDM added a charity division to their operations in 2007. The charity division organizes several local music-based fundraising events throughout the year to benefit different charity organizations, both local and national.
