Seabee Memorial Scholarship Association Announces New Career and Technical Education Scholarships
Children and grandchildren of US Navy Seabees eligible to apply for Career and Technical Education scholarships at accredited institutions.
Washington, DC, February 26, 2019 --(PR.com)-- SMSA to Award Career and Technical Education (CTE) Scholarships.
The Seabee Memorial Scholarship Association (SMSA) announces a new scholarship type available for the children and grandchildren of US Navy Seabees and Civil Engineer Corps Officers.
Beginning with the 2019 scholarship cycle, scholarships will be available for Career and Technical Education (CTE). CTE programs are typically 12-18 month education programs. These one-time scholarships will join the existing two-year and four-year scholarships that are currently available.
“We hope these scholarships address America’s growing shortage of skilled trade workers,” said SMSA Board Chairman Rear Admiral Mike Giorgione, CEC, USN (Ret). “The Seabees are known for their hard work and technical skills and for their ‘Can Do’ work ethic. It’s exciting that the SMSA will now also support skilled trade scholarships.”
These scholarships are available for any accredited post-secondary CTE programs and any type of institution that offers them. Scholarship applications are now available for 2019 at www.seabee.org/scholarship. Scholarships are due April 15th for 2019 scholarship awards.
In addition to the two and four-year scholarships and the new CTE Scholarship, special scholarships are available for children of Seabees killed or wounded in action.
