Sharing Food and Sharing Hope: CBTF Works to Serve Local Nonprofits

Tampa, FL, February 27, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Great service is important to all good caterers but Catering By The Family (CBTF) is taking their commitment to service to a higher level. On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, from 1 PM to 5 PM, CBTF is hosting a free open house at the Mary Help of Christians Center (MHCC) in Tampa to introduce the local community to this lakeside event venue.

CBTF owner and Tampa-native Steven Gonzalez Sr. says, “I believe that the sharing of food with others keeps us connected and that’s why it’s so important to me to share our bounty with the community where our business was founded. As a community conscious business, we continually seek innovative ways to support local causes and organizations as our operations grow.”

That mission to help Tampa nonprofit organizations led Gonzalez to MHCC, a local Catholic institution. In collaboration with Fr. Franco Pinto, SDB, Gonzalez has created a special events package to benefit the church, encouraging people to rent the venue space, providing on-site catering through CBTF, and donating back a percentage of the catering order.

If you are a business owner or HR professional planning a company team building event, picnic, or BBQ, the March 27th open house is an opportunity to check out the idyllic, lakeside setting at MHCC in action, complete with amenities such as a covered area and seating. The venue will be set up to be event-ready with complimentary food to try. Admission is free with the contribution of one non-perishable canned good, which will be donated to the church.

Father Franco says, “The mission of Mary Help of Christians is one that touches the soul. To quote a verse from scripture, 'What does it profit for one to gain the whole world and lose one’s soul?' In the tradition of St. John Bosco, our mission is the ‘salvation of souls.’ Everything we do we do with that in mind.”

In addition to their work with MHCC, CBTF also actively supports The Christ the King Carnival, the Festa Italiana, the Greater Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Plant City, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa, the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, the Plant City Chamber of Commerce, Jesuit’s Celebration of Arts, and the Annual St. Lawrence Catholic Church Thanksgiving Meal for the Homeless.
