Business Owners Are Overly Optimistic, According to Study by Robbins Research International
San Diego, CA, March 11, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Robbins Research International, the research and marketing arm of Tony Robbins’ personal development brand, announced the release of its white paper, “How Optimism Is Holding Back Your Business.”
In a survey done in partnership with Survata, Robbins Research International asked questions of more than 150 American business owners. The questions targeted pain points of American entrepreneurs, intended to discover their feelings about opening and running a business, and also about their work-life balance while operating the company. The results told Robbins Research revealed significant psychology of American entrepreneurs, and the corresponding white paper discusses five major ways that an overabundance of optimism is holding back businesses across the nation.
The study found that business owners were more confident in their skills than their tools, finances are still the #1 concern for American entrepreneurs and that most business owners felt prepared for a recession, despite only 55% of CEOs having an exit strategy for their companies.
“We know that only 4% of businesses survive – just 4%! Despite that low number, there are still thousands of new businesses opening across the country every year. We wanted to better understand the motivation that goes into opening a business, and examine whether or not entrepreneurs were happy with their choices once their company was up and running,” said Brook Bishop, Head of Business Mastery at Robbins Research International. “Overall, we found that while many business owners are doing an incredible job, they’re still overconfident and overly optimistic when it comes to handling major issues, like finances and exit strategies.”
