A panel event and open house where Lehigh Valley residents can learn about transgender people and the issues that are important to them.
Allentown, PA, March 20, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Today, the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center announced that it will be hosting a community education event to commemorate the International Transgender Day of Visibility.
Taking place at 6:30pm on Sunday March 31st the event will include a moderated panel discussion, audience questions and answers, and the opportunity to meet transgender people and leaders from the local community.
“Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) is an annual event that is dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide,” said Atticus Ranck, Health Programs & Supportive Services Manager at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. “We are pleased to be able to do our part to promote trans inclusiveness in the Lehigh Valley.”
Lehigh Valley Transgender Renaissance is cosponsoring the event. “We have been supporting and providing resources to trans people since 1992 and our affiliation with the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center has allowed us to expand our efforts to educate the broader populace about the issues that affect trans people,” said Corinne Goodwin who is one of the leaders of the group. “Our goal is to educate people who are interested in our issues so that they can become active allies,” she continued.
