Montclair, NJ, March 26, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Local recording artist, Carol Vasquez is excited to announce the release of her new CD entitled “Rising Up.” These original songs, inspired by Sunday services at Unity of Montclair where she is currently music director, include catchy pop songs, heartfelt ballads and contemporary jazz with positive, faith-filled messages. Carol and her amazing band of world-class musicians will be celebrating the new release with a CD Release Party/Concert at the Woman’s Club on Saturday, April 6th.
Carol Vasquez, singer and baseball mom, raised both of her amazing boys Nick and Michael Starpoli, right here in Montclair where they attended the public schools. Carol has her performing roots in musical theater, where she has had the pleasure of performing leading roles in such shows as West Side Story, Evita, Guys and Dolls, Pirates of Penzance and Nine. She has traveled throughout the United States and internationally singing with the revue group “Broadway Exchange,” and performed her own show on the SS Rotterdam. Currently, Carol is a freelance lead vocalist for a number of bands and orchestras performing in major hotels and clubs in the tri-state area. Carol’s debut CD “I Have Dreamed,” was released in the fall of 2011. This compilation of songs from the American Songbook, Broadway and pop music features performances by jazz greats, guitarists Dave Stryker and Charlie Hunter.
Carol’s new CD combines her two passions: music and spirituality. She states that “It has been so much fun creating this music, and it is my hope that these songs will help to spread uplifting and positive messages to a world that could use a little joy boost!” Her standout musicians performing on April 6th include Ted Brancato (Piano), Gregory Jones (Bass), Lee Finkelstein (Drums), Dave Rimelis (Guitar, violin), Chris Amelar (Guitar), Tynia Thomassie (bkg vocals) and Sue Nock (bkg vocals). Stay after the performance for a reception which includes light snacks and beverages. “Come by to lift your spirit, and raise the vibration of our beautiful planet!”
