Live Music, Dance, and Storytelling Among Free Offerings at Rhythms of the Village Spring Festival in Altadena

Altadena, CA, April 10, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Live performers, including African dancers and drummers, Ballet Folklorico dancers, soul singers, and storytellers will be featured at the Village Market & Festival on April 14, 2019, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The festival theme of All Tribes Unite! also highlights diverse foods, art, and a maker’s fair. Presented by Rhythms of the Village, this free event will be held in the backlot of the store at 2279 North Lake Avenue, Altadena, with adjacent merchants, Oh Happy Days and Freddy’s Antiques also participating. A range of multi-cultural rhythms and talents are scheduled to perform, including Aztec dancers, African dancers and drummers, Ballet Folklorico, soul singers, and storytellers.
“We’re very blessed to have a magical lineup and amazing vendors,” says Emeka Chukwurah of Rhythms of the Village. “The festival always expresses the diversity of the Altadena community and has something interesting for everyone.”
The makers fair features one-of-a-kind hand-crafted items from local makers, such as upcycled bags and purses from repurposed wool; clothing from vintage and sustainable materials; and jewelry from natural stones, crystals, brass and vintage findings. Other vendor offerings include small batch custom skin care and beard care; handcrafted and hand-stamped metal jewelry; and custom herbal hair care mixes. Makers at this event include UnCommon Sence, Power In One Clothing, Herbin Redwood, Native Sol, Dragonfish Handmade Goods, David Marks, Heart and Sol Designs, and Holly Jane Sews.
Food offerings include sweets from Garden Party Confections; Casa’s fresh fruit beverages and handmade tacos; Jackfruit Café’s vegan jackfruit tacos; and Salvadorian pupusas and fried plantains from Big Mamma’s Kitchen.
