Bellacor Launches Volunteer Program as Extension of Core Values
Minneapolis, MN, April 10, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Bellacor, a Minneapolis-based, industry leader in lighting and home furnishings, has implemented a volunteer program within the organization as an initiative to give back to the local community. The program, fittingly called, "BellaCares" unofficially broke ground in 2018 by partnering with local non-profit organizations that loosely align with the company's industry.
This year, Bellacor refined the core values for the company and seeking to actualize them in a way that serves the community and cultivates culture within the organization. The objective is to leverage company assets—including time, talent, vendors and products—and use these assets to support community causes and engage employees in projects that meets the needs within the community. Currently, the efforts have been focused on local causes in the Twin Cities.
BellaCares is just one of several avenues that the company intends to use to put movement behind its core values, which include prioritizing people and building relationships.
According to Senior Manager of Human Resources Sarah Worzala, BellaCares is a tangible way for Bellacor to build upon its entrepreneurial spirit while honoring the same community that helped Bellacor get its start back in 2000. "Being a small company founded in and based in the Twin Cities, we are proud of our humble roots," says Worzala. "It is important to our company that we give back to our local community that has given us so much. One of our most important core values is to be 'Relationship Builders' – that means with our co-workers, our customers, our vendors and partners, and last, but certainly not least, with our community."
Although volunteer work is not a new endeavor for Bellacor, Worzala says the company is changing its approach to become more intentional about giving back by planning quarterly events. Thus far, Bellacor has partnered with local chapters of organizations like United Way, Adopt-a-Family, YouthLinkMN and Open Arms. Beyond volunteer work, the company also donates products to non-profits like Habitat for Humanity and Bridging: two organizations that focus on providing furnishings and housing to those in need.
