Vision Unbound Offers Free Event to Support Children
Nonprofit hosts simulcast designed to provide information for families, churches, and professionals on how to best assist children impacted by adoption and foster care.
Sparta, NJ, April 17, 2019 --(PR.com)-- The Empowered to Connect Conference is a two-day event presented by Show Hope.
Vision Unbound is hosting the two-day replay of the simulcast on April 26-27, 2019 at Sparta Evangelical Free Church, 429 Lafayette Road, Sparta Township, NJ 07871.
Space is limited for this free event, and seats can be reserved at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/empowered-to-connect-simulcast-tickets-58613193640. “I saw the opportunity to get involved and wanted to jump in on it,” said Kristy Wilkins, the executive director of Visition Unbound, a local Sparta Township nonprofit that provides assistance to those aging out of the foster care system. “Other communities participate on a nation-wide scale with Show Hope, and I wanted to provide the space for our community.”
Anyone in a family, church, or professional setting who helps or supports children impacted by adoption and foster care and/or trauma will experience practical teaching in a safe and supportive community through this simulcast. This year’s conference includes Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) methods developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross from the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development, which exists to bring attachment and connection in families.
Speakers include Daren Jones, Training Specialist with the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development, Dan and Terri Coley, Show Hope founding board members, Amanda Purvis, Training Specialist with the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development, and Cindy Lee, LCSW, LADC, among others.

Vision Unbound is a non-profit ministry formed to affirm, educate, and assist orphans and the fatherless ages 18-25 with a live-in agency of education and community to educate them in the available choices and possibilities for a future and/or assist them in succeeding in post-high school education. VU provides counseling and psychotherapy as prescribed by the licensed staff practitioner and teaches tools to thrive.
Show Hope is a movement to care for orphans, restoring hope by breaking down barriers that exist between waiting children and loving families.
