With over 20 years experience, Dr. Corey Dambacher is the CEO of BioNext, LLC, an international company with operations in San Diego, California that provides consulting services to provide ideas for companies to practice for commercialization within expanding biotechnology markets. He specializes in molecular, chemical and synthetic biology. Dr. Dambacher conducts research to better pharmaceuticals and oversees the daily operations of the company. He is responsible for liaising with clients to help them get over technical hurdles, start up new labs and to solve their computational needs in the genomics and multi-omics space. He is currently also at the Cancer Early Detection Advanced Research (CEDAR) Center in the Knight Cancer Institute at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR.
Born on May 16, 1979 in Sonora, California, Corey obtained a BA in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Hawaii at Hilo, a M.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology from San Diego State University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry and Biology from The Scripps Research Institute in 2011. He also completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in CryoEM at The Scripps Research Institute from 2013 through 2015. Dr. Dambacher has authored multiple peer reviewed scientific publications in the areas of muscle biology, cellular protein synthesis and degradation, and holds several patents relating to nucleic acid sequencing and analysis. He was awarded the Student Research Achievement Award in 2006 by the Biophysical Society, as well as a variety of travel awards to present his work. He was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society in 2005.
Previously, Dr. Dambacher served as the Director of Biochemistry at Singular Genomics Systems, a Senior Scientist at Omniome, Inc. and as an Assay Development Scientist at Prognosys Biosciences. In his spare time Corey enjoys camping, hiking and fishing, as well as coaching wrestling and football.
