Local Dentist Office Founders of Two New National Holidays
Dr. Tim Stirneman and Jim Wojdyla have founded National Dental Care Month (The entire Month of May) and National Smile Day (May 31st) to celebrate the awareness and importance of regular dental care and to remind people that dentistry isn't nearly as expensive as neglect is. It is a good reason for dental offices to use these holidays for marketing promotions or social media content.

Dr. Tim Stirneman, owner of Compassionate Dental Care in Lake in the Hills, IL and his Director of Business Development, Jim Wojdyla, have founded National Dental Care Month (The entire Month of May) and National Smile Day (May 31st) to celebrate the awareness and importance of regular dental care. These holidays were registered by National Day Calendar, who get about 20,000 submissions per year and only accept less than 20.
“There are close to 70 dental offices in a 6 mile radius of our office,” said Dr. Tim. “Though we have different patients, we all have the same goal. My mission is to bring us together not only in Chicago, but also unify offices across the country to put extra efforts into promoting dental care.” These holidays were created for marketing campaigns and social media content creation.
“The one point that we always stress is that dentistry isn’t nearly as expensive as neglect is,” continues Jim Wojdyla.
February promotes Children’s Dental Health, but there is no other holiday in the year that reminds adults how important dental care and maintenance is. To celebrate and promote their new holiday, Compassionate Dental Care will be giving away a different gift every day through the month of May to patients with scheduled appointments. The hope is to get dental practices across the country to get creative, in their own way, to get attention and get people to stop procrastinating and schedule an appointment.
Dr. Tim and Jim also wrote and illustrated a children’s book in 2018 called Mya Papaya Meets the Wizard of Teeth. It is a book about a girl going to the dentist for the first time that mentions both holidays in the book. The day of her first dental appointment? May 31st.
