JC Golf to Open Disc Golf Course at Reidy Creek Golf Course in Escondido
JC Golf announces the launch San Diego’s newest disc golf course at Reidy Creek Golf Course in Escondido, CA on May 11, 2019.
San Marcos, CA, May 03, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Golf facility management company JC Golf plans to launch San Diego’s newest disc golf course at Reidy Creek Golf Course in Escondido on May 11, 2019.
According to the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA), disc golf, or Frisbee™ golf as it is more commonly known, is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States, with more than 8,000 courses in existence and two professional-level tours. In 2018, the PDGA reported more than 45,000 active members and sanctioned more than 4,200 tournaments worldwide.
Similar to traditional golf, disc golf is played using the same general rules, terminology, and etiquette, but instead of using golf clubs and a ball, the player throws a high-tech flying disc into a targeted basket. The objective mirrors that of golf – the player with the fewest throws wins.
Reidy Creek Golf Course is an ideal location for an additional disc golf course in San Diego County, located just north of the Interstate 15 and Highway 78 interchange. The golf course was originally designed to complement the natural valley and mountain terrain of north Escondido so the undulating greens, water features and course turns create a fun, challenging disc-throwing experience. Starting May 11, the eighteen-hole disc golf course will play alongside the existing executive golf course and footgolf course.
“We’re excited to bring disc golf to Reidy Creek and provide a new path for enthusiastic disc golfers in San Diego,” said Eric Jeska, Corporate Director of Golf Operations with JC Resorts. “After a trial tournament hosted by the San Diego Aces Disc Golf Club in February, we listened to the local community and it became clear that the growing disc golf population in San Diego is seeking new challenging tracks. Reidy Creek will give them that and more; it’s the perfect venue for leagues and tournaments.”
JC Golf, with its expertise in golf course management, plans to focus on an exceptional guest experience with the new disc golf course at Reidy Creek Golf Course. For opening day information, visit Disc Golf Opening Day at Reidy Creek or call the pro shop at 760-740-2450. Beginning May 4th, tee time reservations can be made seven days in advance at JCGolf.com.
