Knoxville, TN, May 04, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Healthcare occupations are projected to add 2.4 million new jobs from 2016 to 2026, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics—more than any other group.1 Now, those wishing to enter the growing field have a new option for education with Remington College.
Remington College Knoxville (Remington College Online) today announced its new Medical Assisting 9-Month Diploma Program. Enrollment is now open, and classes start soon.
The Medical Assisting Diploma Program aims to prepare students to work with patients, take vital signs, prepare laboratory samples, manage inventory and supplies, file medical records, submit insurance information, schedule patient appointments and more. The program is designed to prepare students for a number of entry-level positions.2
The program can be completed in as few as nine months.3 Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded a Diploma in Medical Assisting.
The curriculum covers:
· Introduction to Healthcare Services
· Health Science Procedures
· Clinical Procedures
· Pharmacology
· Anatomy and Physiology
· Insurance Applications, Billing and Coding
· Capstone and Certification
Medical assistants may find employment in a number of healthcare settings, including private practices, hospitals, clinics, physicians’ groups, nursing homes, and home health agencies. 2 Medical assistants typically specialize in either administrative assisting or clinical assisting.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the need for medical assistants is expected to grow by 29 percent from 2016 to 2026.1 Medical assistants are in high demand because of the increasing need for preventative medical services caused by the growth of the aging baby-boom population.
