Michael Roberts Amongst Historic First Class of Morehouse Hall of Fame Inductees

Morehouse announces stellar line-up of inductees during monumental 40 Years After KING Ceremony.

Morehouse College Honors Extraordinary Men During Prestigious, First-Ever Hall of Fame Induction on April 4th.

On April 4th, Michael V. Roberts, Sr., Chairman, CEO and Founder of the Roberts Companies, will be inducted into Morehouse College’s first-ever Hall of Fame, as part of the university’s international Science and Spiritual Awareness Week. The prestigious ceremony is part of a historical, week-long series of events that mark the 40th anniversary remembrance of the death of civil rights pioneer and Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., themed Gandhi-King-Ikeda-Hassan Perennial Season for Non-Violence (March 30th - April 6th).

The inaugural event will kick off Morehouse’s annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where the college will honor and inaugurate exceptional individuals who have made significant contributions in the spirit of the late Dr. King’s philosophies. This year’s event will take place on Friday, April 4th, at 11:00 am, at Morehouse College, in the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel, 830 Westview Drive S.W. Atlanta. During the event, Morehouse will induct Roberts along with ten other extraordinary leaders who have uniquely exemplified qualities that are the hallmarks of the life and teachings of Dr. King.

The first class of Martin Luther King International Board of Renaissance Leaders Hall of Fame Inductees include: Bill Duffy, Blair Underwood, Congressman Charles Rangel, Keith Wyche, Kent Amos, Phillip Emeagwali, William R. “Billy” Martin, Raymond McGuire, R. Donahue Peebles, Reuben Cannon and Michael V. Roberts.

Michael Roberts is recognized as one of the world’s most successful African-American entrepreneurs and preeminent innovators in business, philanthropy, and corporate and social commitment. A self-made businessman he has, along with his brother Steven, created a nearly $900 million empire.
