SMi Group is delighted to share three exclusive interviews with Roche, BioTekPro and Sutro Biopharma who will be speaking at the highly anticipated Pharmaceutical Microbiology West Coast Conference in San Diego, in just under 4 weeks’ time.
San Diego, CA, May 11, 2019 --(PR.com)-- It’s imperative for microbiologists and leaders from all areas of pharmaceuticals, biologicals, cleanroom, microbiology and contamination industry experts to stay on top of the latest advancements, technologies and processes related to microbiology. For this reason, SMi has gathered experts representing top organizations to share their insights at Pharmaceutical Microbiology West Coast taking place on June 5 and 6 in San Diego, USA.
SMi Group had the opportunity to speak with three of the featured speakers to discuss some of the challenges they face in the industry and their strategies for overcoming them. The following excerpts are from those interviews:
You can download the full interviews and updated event brochure with the full agenda at: www.pharma-microbiology-usa.com/PR4
1. Friedrich Von Wintzingerode, Roche Diagnostics: About you – what is your area of expertise within pharmaceutical microbiology and what perspective do you bring to the conference?
“Expertise: Classical and molecular microbiology (e.g. PCR, identification), endotoxin testing. Perspective: Microbial impurities like endotoxin’s and other PAMPs are risk to patient safety and product quality.”
Friedrich will be speaking on "Low Endotoxin Recovery (LER)."
2. Matts Ramstorp, BioTekPro AB: What current hot topic will you be addressing in your presentation and what would you say makes it relevant to 2019?
“In my presentation I will focus on cleanroom garments and their use, in respect to the draft Annex 1 (Endralex, Volume 4) (2017). My presentation is intended as a wake-up call, trying to get the end-users to understand the importance of cleanroom garments and what demands they can and must put of these garments in the future.”
Matts will be speaking on "Cleanroom Garments from a Quality Risk Management Perspective."
3. Anita Bawa, Sutro BioPharma: What are the major challenges that face sterility failure investigations at the moment?
"Find the true root cause of the failure and unable to retest without cause. Although final product sterility contamination is not common but once you have it takes many months to find the possible cause and required good justifications to return to production. It takes lot of resources from cross functional teams and production and testing on hold until. Additional media fill may be required to show that filling process is free of contamination."
Anita will be speaking on "Investigating Sterility Failures."
