Dream Foundation’s Flower Empower Luncheon is a Tremendous Success
Over $160,000 raised to support the program at the heart of our community.
Santa Barbara, CA, May 23, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Following a last-minute move to an indoor location because of the inclement weather, supporters and friends came together to celebrate their beloved local program and honor those who continue to support its growth at Dream Foundation’s 9th Annual Flower Empower Luncheon on Thursday, May 16th at the Page Youth Center in Santa Barbara. Those celebrated included Organization of the Year, National Charity League, Inc. Santa Barbara, Florist of the Year, Tracey Morris, ella & louie floral studio, and Volunteers of the Year, the Flower Empower Honorary Committee.
A stunning silent auction featuring an extraordinary painting by Santa Barbara artist, Marlyn Daggett enticed guests upon arrival as co-emcees KEYT’s Alan Rose and Alys Martinez welcomed them. Andrew Firestone led the paddle raise and live auction featuring a Santa Barbara International Film Festival VIP Package, a Napa Getaway courtesy of Vista Collina Resort, Tesla, and Stags Leap, and two Maui Dream Vacation’s, courtesy of Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea Beach and Dream Foundation’s Sustaining Partner, Alaska Airlines.
While honoring those dedicated supporters from 2018 and 2019, guests enjoyed a delectable gourmet meal courtesy of Seasons Catering. The event closed with heartfelt words from Maggie Geyer, who spoke movingly about becoming a recipient of the program after having spent some time volunteering for it, reminding everyone present why Flower Empower is such an important part of the community.
Dream Foundation thank Steven Crossland, Director of Page Youth Center for hosting and accommodating the last minute change of venue.
