Returnity Granted Patent for Reusable Shipping Box Which Allows for Easy Transition From Single-Use to Multi-Reuse Economy
Reusable Shipping Box Patent Granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Brooklyn, NY, May 30, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Returnity Innovations, a leader in sustainable shipping packaging solutions, today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted them a patent for a reusable shipping box that can be reconfigured to a compact state for efficient shipment and delivery through the mail when it is not being used to ship an item. The design allows for efficient delivery of the shipping box to a consumer and return of the box when it has completed a delivery. The shipping box is reconfigurable via a proprietary zip pattern that only requires a single zipping action to open and close the box, and to transition the box to and from its compacted state. These convertible boxes lower the logistical costs associated with shipping packaging.
“This is an important patent for Returnity and as a leading innovator of sustainable solutions for the waste associated with shipping, we will continue to focus on creating technology that allows companies to be rid of defunct cardboard boxes and poly mailer bags, which can reduce packaging expenses by more than fifty percent,” said Mike Newman, CEO of Returnity. “Our innovation pipeline is bringing exciting new solutions to the market which will make the adoption of multi-reuse rather than single-use as seamless as possible.”
Returnity has designed and manufactured cost-effective and lightweight boxes and bags that provide realistic alternatives customized to best fit the way their partners do business. In doing so, Returnity plans to displace the use of over 1 million cardboard boxes and poly mailer bags in 2019 – and 10 million+ in 2020.
