Paper Towel Kids Raise Money for School
Karsten Baskets and employees of local medical equipment supply company team up to benefit children at annual auction.
Oconomowoc, WI, April 01, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Karsten Baskets was asked recently to help a group of employees from a local medical equipment company.
The challenge: Using donated school supplies and classroom cleaning supplies, create a presentation worthy of a spectacular "Magical Moment", the theme of this year's 8th annual Mother of Good Counsel auction sponsored by the Mother of Good Counsel Home and School Association.
"The Kids" were created from paper towels, back packs, lunch totes, and various supplies necessary for the school year. They sit 2ft wide, 3ft long and over 2ft tall requiring a bulletin board to support their weight. As they developed, so did their personalities, once tee shirts, faces and magnetic feet were attached. To keep with the "Magical Moment" theme they gave the boy a magic hat, white gloves, a wand and of course, a rabbit. The girl, wrapped in starry garland, was given a sparkly wand and tiara to complete the look.
Each year MGC holds an auction to benefit the children of the school. 100% of the proceeds go directly to the kids. Last year's event brought in $38000: enough to create a state of the art computer lab. Money also goes for student scholarships and other resource materials.
See "The Kids" in person when they will be auctioned off April 26th. For further information and specifics of the event visit mgcparish.org website and see photos of "The Kids" at KarstenBaskets.com
