Award-Winning Series Adoptable! from Queer as Folk’s Scott Lowell Now Streaming Worldwide on BINGE Networks
New York, NY, June 07, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Adoptable!, is a six-part original comedy series written by and starring filmmaker Scott Lowell (Queer as Folk, Bones). Loosely based on Lowell’s personal experience searching for his birth parents, the series is presented as a documentary which follows successful actor, and adult adoptee, Scott Fishman (Lowell), who stars as the first openly gay detective in the hit TV show “Cops & Bottoms,” alongside Noah Wyle (E/R, Falling Skies). Following screenings at several webfests, including the recent Miami Webfest where Adoptable! won both Best Mocumentary and Best of Festival, the series can now be streamed by audiences worldwide on BINGE Networks.
Joining Lowell and Wyle on screen, are Linda Park (Star Trek: Enterprise, Crash) as the director of the documentary, Emily Swallow (Star Wars: The Mandolorian, Supernatural) as Lisa, Scott Fishman’s fiancée, and Jim O’Heir (Parks and Recreation), as their couples therapist, Bob. Encouraged by Lisa and Bob, Scott embarks on a journey to find his birth parents. As he seeks deeper self-knowledge ahead of marriage and starting a family, Scott enlists the help of adoption intermediary Mary Elizabeths, played by multi-Emmy Award® Winner and Lowell’s former Queer as Folk castmate, Sharon Gless (Cagney & Lacey, Burn Notice).
Featuring guest appearances by Merrin Dungey (Big Little Lies, Alias), Gale Harold (Queer as Folk, Secret Circle), Eddie Jemison (Chicago Med, iZombie), and Julia Duffy (Newhart, Designing Women), Season One of Adoptable! is produced by ScoLo, Inc. Productions and directed by SXSW Award Winner Monty Miranda (Skills Like This, American Mustang). Over 450 individuals from around the world contributed to the Indiegogo campaign to help fund the series.
“I’m thrilled that audiences across the globe are now able to share in Adoptable! thanks to our new home on BINGE Networks,” says creator, writer, actor and producer Scott Lowell.
