Shackelford Law Firm Showcases New Team of Attorneys at Houston Office Location
Mid-sized Texas Law Firm Expands to 57 Lawyers Throughout Six Locations.
Dallas, TX, June 13, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Dallas-based law firm Shackelford, Bowen, McKinley & Norton, LLP opened its sixth location in Houston on Monday, June 3rd. The mid-sized law firm grew to 57 lawyers with the addition of seven former Winstead PC attorneys added to the team. The Houston location focuses primarily on insurance disputes, commercial litigation and energy law, among other practice areas.
Shackelford has professional expertise in 12 different leading industries. Managing Partner John Shackelford announced that six partners were added to the Houston team, including Jay Brown, Stephen Wedemeyer, Bruce Wilkin, Hilary Borow, Matthew Foytlin and Amparo Guerra, alongside associate Cameron Dernick. The team has worked together for over a decade and the move "happened organically" after more than a year of discussions and preparation with Shackelford.
“It’s a good move for the firm. We have put together a great team of individuals to represent the Houston office. We strive to employ individuals who are good people first, before being good attorneys,” Shackelford said.
Founding Partner Mike McKinley said, “Service to our clients and community are emphasized as top priorities at our firm.”
All attorneys at Shackelford believe that service to the community and their profession are core values of their practice. The law firm strives to stand by the slogan, “Serving our clients, our profession and our community,” when representing every client case. Additionally, the firm strives to create lasting relationships with clients as they navigate through their legal journey.
“For most of our clients, we handle a great deal of their work across Texas, so we need a firm that is spread around Texas, and we also need a firm that gives true meaning to... client focus,” Brown said.
The attorneys and partners at the mid-sized law practice take pride in being part of a firm that is large enough to provide the expertise the client needs, yet small enough to give clients the personalized attention their cases deserve.
“The overriding factor in everything we do is how it will benefit our clients. Those benefits are obvious with this talented and respected group of lawyers,” Shackelford said in a press release.
In an interview, Shackelford expressed that, due to the significant legal market found in Houston, the expansion from the Dallas-based firm was evident. The decision to expand proved to be a long process, however, the Shackelford team is looking forward to providing Houston area residents with expert legal representation.
