Student Leaders to Attend AADE19 Meeting with the College Diabetes Network

Houston, TX, August 05, 2019 --(PR.com)-- The College Diabetes Network has selected seven students from its NextGen Leadership Program to attend the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) Conference.

The American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) Annual Meeting and Conference in Houston, Texas, from August 9-12, 2019, is the premier educational and networking event for diabetes educators. More than 3,300 educators and other healthcare professionals are expected to gather at AADE19.

CDN’s NextGen Leadership Program is designed to provide a pathway for young adults to feel empowered to become the future of diabetes leaders in our society and represent the young adult voice in the sector. While attending these national events and conferences, selected students attend sessions in breakthrough research, participate in networking receptions with key stakeholders, and are matched with an expert to serve as a mentor throughout the conference. This mentorship opportunity is funded by CDN’s partnership with the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE)

“CDN is thrilled to be able to provide young adults the opportunity to gain insight into the diabetes education sector, as this career field increasingly needs a younger voice,” says Christina Roth, CEO and Founder of CDN. “We’re so proud of the students who were chosen to represent us at this conference, as they are extremely bright and talented and will one day make great leaders in this career.”

The College Diabetes Network (CDN) is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is singularly focused on providing young adults with T1D the peer connections they value, and expert resources they need, to successfully manage the challenging transition to independence at college and beyond.
