Company Helps Reunite Refugee Siblings After 20+ Year Separation
Valor Global assists employee in reunion with sister previously presumed deceased.
Phoenix, AZ, June 22, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Valor Global employs the Dream Manager Program to assist employee’s in dreaming again and assist in allowing their dreams to come to fruition. This is the story of one employee’s dream come true.
Michael was born and raised in Sierra Leone, a country on the southwest coast of Africa. A talented and gifted athlete, Michael was recruited to play soccer for the Sierra Leone Futball Association (SLFA) and became an employee for Valor Global post retirement.
In 1999, his sister Amie was presumed dead after a bomb attack in the capitol. The family mourned her before Michael became a refugee, leaving Sierra Leone for Costa Rica.
Years later, Michael received word that his sister had been sighted in the US. After confirmation that she had survived the bombing and was living safely as a refugee in Pennsylvania, Michael and his sister were reconnected via phone. He was desperate to see her.
After submitting his story to the Dream Manager Program, Michael Tommy received contact from the Dream Manager that Valor Global Costa Rica wanted to help his dream come true. “We can make your reunion happen, we love you, we love this story.” With company backing, Michael was able to get his Visa costs covered, plane ticket paid-for, time-off, and paid vacation time.
