North American One-Armed Golfer Association Golf Tournament
The North American One-Armed Golfer Association is holding a Tournament in Tampa at Innisbrook Resort that began on June 23, 2019 and will conclude 4 days later. This is a group of disabled golfers with phenomenal stories of resilience.
Tampa, FL, June 24, 2019 --(PR.com)-- North American One-Armed Golfer Association (NAOAGA) athletes compete by playing golf with one arm. The organization’s motto, "Never Quit," aptly describes each of its members and the struggles he or she has overcome in life due to injury, birth defects or illness.
The 2019 North American One-Armed Golfer Association (NAOAGA) annual championship arrived early this week at the home of the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship. Innisbrook, a Salamander Golf and Spa Resort in the Tampa, Florida area, is playing host to these disabled athletes until June 27th, 2019. This 19th annual edition of the organization’s NAOAGA Annual Meeting and Championships (AM&C), brings together forty-four disabled golfers from as far away as Ireland for the five-day competitive event.
This is a year of firsts for the organization. Besides playing on the same venue as PGA tour pros who competed there just 3 months prior, NAOAGA will welcome six junior competitors who will be vying for championships in their own one-armed division for the first time ever. Florida resident Vincent Biser, a perennial contender in the adult Getchell Division, will aim to make history by trying to best his own record six wins set last year. He aims to win for the seventh time at this year’s NAOAGA national championships.
About NAOAGA: Started in Louisville Kentucky by four friends in 2000, the mission of NAOAGA is to promote golf to those who must play one-handed due to a physically challenged condition for the purpose of competition, recreation, and physical and emotional rehabilitation. It organizes local, regional, national and international competitions across North America and Europe, including the Fightmaster Cup, a Ryder Cup style competition held every two years at alternating North American and European venues. The organization’s motto "Never Quit," aptly describes each of its members and the struggles he or she has overcome in life due to injury, birth defects or illness.
