New Agent Addition: Sloan’s Moving & Storage
Broadview, IL, June 27, 2019 --(PR.com)-- National Van Lines proudly welcomes Manassas, VA-based Sloan’s Moving & Storage to our interstate-moving family, an agreement that further solidifies NVL’s strong Eastern Seaboard presence.
“We’re glad to be members of the National Van Lines family,” Owner and President Danny Sloan said. “This agreement will open wide the interstate-moving gates for our company.”
Danny got his formal start in the relocation industry at a relatively young age. While a high-school senior, he worked as a summer helper for a local mover. That job established a pattern. He then spent the next four years helping put himself through college by moving furniture during summers and holidays.
“While others spent spring breaks at the beach,” Danny said, “I was loading and unloading trucks.”
But that keep-moving imperative took hold when he was even much younger, Danny explained.
“Moving has always been in my blood,” he said. “My father had a 30-year career with the U.S. Customs Service, so our family moved seven times before I was 14. My brothers and I spent many days building forts out of all the moving boxes.”
After graduating college with a business degree, Danny remained with the moving company he had come to like so much by working in their sales and marketing department.
“During a 20-year period, I helped that company grow from a one-truck operation to a company with 10 trucks and 40+ employees,” Danny said. “This hands-on experience assisted me in learning about every aspect of the moving industry.”
Learn he did.
“I always had dreams of starting my own moving company,” he said. “I had seen the good aspects as well as the bad aspects of the moving industry. I really wanted to be able to take the good things I had learned over these many years and incorporate them into something of my own.”
That was more than 10 years ago, but there’s been no sense of looking back for Danny and his employees.
“Danny’s entrepreneurial spirit has taken Sloan’s Moving & Storage from startup status to prominence in the northern Virginia metropolitan area,” National Van Lines Executive VP Mark Doyle said. “We’re excited to have Danny and his team on board.”
“At the end of the day, it’s not just about moving and storage for us,” Danny said. “It’s about building trust and long-lasting relationships with the people we work with. That’s why we love doing what we do.”
