Datenight Launches in Ottawa
Canada’s leading babysitting app is urging Ottawa parents to #DitchTheKidsOTT.
Ottawa, Canada, June 29, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Datenight, Canada’s leading babysitting app, has expanded to the Ottawa market after receiving a flood of positive feedback. The Toronto-based startup launched the app in spring 2014 as a solution for parents scrambling to find a babysitter that suits their needs.
Datenight was started by Elize Shirdel, a mom of two boys who wanted desperately to have a monthly dinner out with her husband, but constantly struggled to secure a babysitter. As an engineer and a developer, she figured there must be a technical solution to this problem, so she built an app to do it.
The app guarantees that within ten minutes of registering, parents can have interviews scheduled with a few candidates to add to their roster of babysitters. With just a few clicks, parents can find, assess, and select a babysitter. So far, Datenight has helped parents book more than 50,000 hours of childcare.
All babysitters on the Datenight Platform are interviewed twice, once by a Datenight interviewer and once by parents. Babysitter on the app are largely college and university students, dance and swimming instructors and long-time babysitters - all have experience with kids and provide two childcare-related references, whom parents can contact directly.
As explained by Shirdel, “We know that parents want to make decisions about care for their families - and who is the best fit,” she said. “We help parents access the info that they need to make those decisions and streamline the path to get there.”
Datenight empowers parents to enjoy their favourite activities, special events, and rekindle their romance, all with the confidence that their kids are in safe hands. Datenight wants Ottawa parents to enjoy the same benefits from their app, urging them to #DitchTheKidsOTT.
“We’re so excited to be taking this next step, and can’t wait to interact with our Ottawa clientele,” says Shirdel.
