Celebrate Ginger Rogers' Birthday at the Owens-Rogers Museum in July and August
The Owens-Rogers Museum: Birthplace of Ginger Rogers located at 100 W Moore Street in Independence, Missouri will host special events in July and August 2019 in celebration of Ginger Rogers’ birthday.
Independence, MO, July 08, 2019 --(PR.com)-- The Owens-Rogers museum is celebrating Ginger Rogers birthday during the month of July by giving visitors 1/2 price admission when they bring a gift for the Salvation Army in the form of a non-perishable food item or unwrapped toy. The museum is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Admission is $8.
The museum has wonderful unique displays about Hollywood screenwriter Lela Rogers and her daughter Hollywood star Ginger Rogers with over 260 items on display. During the month of July also see a special display about Kansas City native Jean Harlow and a gown worn by Joan Fontaine.
The museum and the Mallinson Winery are hosting Hollywood Happy Hour for an evening of 40's-50's Hollywood era fun on July 18, 2019. Attendees will tour the Owens-Rogers Museum first, then will head over to the Mallinson Winery for a cocktail party and Red and Ginger Sangria. See displays about Hollywood celebrities from Kansas City, and a 30-minute presentation about Ginger Rogers by the museum owner, Marge Padgitt. Order tickets by July 14th. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite cocktail garb and enter the Ginger Rogers Look-Alike Contest. The winner will receive several prizes. Over 21 only.
