Super City Events Announces the 1st Annual Multi-Venue Pop Culture Fest

Rochester, NY, July 11, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Today, Super City Events, LLC announced their first annual “Super City Rochester” festival will be held on August 23rd, 24th, and 25th, presented by The Rich Ide Family of Dealerships. Anson Place, off East Avenue, will be the Official Super City Headquarters (HQ).

Unlike traditional conventions, most of the activities and exhibitions will be free and open to the public, providing an opportunity for everyone to share in the fun. A true multi-verse experience; from the cosplay/costume contests and a world record attempt, to a video game demo and tournament on the dome of RMSC’s Planetarium, not to mention the “Day Of Firsts” cartoon and movie showings at The Little Theater. There will be pro wrestling, “Geek Comedy Hour” with “Super Roast” in the Valley Cadillac Building, free play video games, free inflatables to invigorate kids of all ages, vendors and food trucks on Anson Place. Super City Rochester is an all ages extravaganza for everyone.

There’s an “Artist Alley” that will feature local artists like John Magnus Champlain & Shawn Dunwoody, as well as national guests like: Guy Gilchrest, Jim Henson’s Animator, & Danny Fingeroth, a long-time Marvel & DC writer and Spider-Man group line editor for years.

Founder Jason Hilton commented on the event “Our mission is to breakout of the classic ‘con’-style event and flood the streets with pop culture enthusiasts and activities that highlight our great city, why limit the fun to a single convention center?! We want to make a little noise by trying to set the World Record for the most Cosplay & Costumed people in one area which would be over 1700. Grab your friends, family, and even your pets, get dressed up as your favorite pop culture character (or don’t) and come downtown for some super fun!”

Super City Rochester kicks off the festivities on Friday, August 23rd, with a “Super Pub Crawl” downtown in the East and Alexander area with themed pubs, activities and drink specials joining in on the fun. The festival continues on “Super City Saturday,” August 24th all day and then the day ends with an all ages rock concert by “The Little Mermen,” the premier Disney cover band, dressing in costumes and playing your favorite Disney tunes. Then to cap it all off, many of our friends, sponsors and partners are offering amazing opportunities to continue the fun on “Sidekick Sunday” Aug. 25th.
