Actronix, Inc. Comes to Aid of Families Affected by Tornados

Flippin, AR, April 03, 2008 --(PR.com)-- In the spirit of “taking care of their own,” Actronix, Inc., a cable and wire harness assembly manufacturer, announced an employee gift initiative today that will help defray home repair costs left in the wake of recent tornadoes throughout Marion County, Ark.

More than five percent of the company’s Flippin, Ark., workforce was directly affected by the storm, experiencing a range in damage from missing roof tiles to being completely displaced. Immediately following news of employee loss, Actronix management went into action to find a way to help.

“Actronix prides itself on providing the highest level of service to our customers, and it’s only natural for us to extend the same care to our employees,” said Tim Grant, president and chief executive officer for Actronix. “Our hearts go out to every family faced with piecing their home back together.”

The initiative, spearheaded by Grant and Mertice Kray, Actronix’s vice president of human resources and benefits, involved interviewing the entire plant workforce to ensure assistance was offered to all employees directly inconvenienced. After evaluating need, Grant pledged $5,500 to aid employees in restoring their homes and lives.

On March 13, each of the 11 families involved in the disaster received $500 to apply towards insurance deductibles, repairs and other associated costs. Due to the fact that Marion County was declared a national disaster area, Actronix employees who received the monetary gifts were not personally taxed.

“We hope this stipend will offer some relief during this challenging time,” added Grant.
