College Diabetes Network Members to Attend 2019 Taking Control Of Your Diabetes ONE Conference on Scholarship
Boston, MA, July 24, 2019 --(PR.com)-- The College Diabetes Network (CDN) is excited to announce that 17 of its members were selected to attend the TCOYD ONE Conference and Retreat August 16-18 in San Diego, CA through a scholarship program offered by the San Diego-based nonprofit, Taking Control Of Your Diabetes (TCOYD). The scholarship funds were generously provided by the Dexcom One Step Ahead Foundation (DOSAF) and TCOYD private donors.
The TCOYD ONE Conference and Retreat is a one-of-a-kind weekend experience in paradise that brings together adults with type one diabetes (T1D) and their loved ones, diabetes specialists, physicians and researchers from around the world for a weekend of education, motivation and connection within the type 1 community.
These 17 CDN members, along with additional TCOYD applicants from around the world, were selected for their passion and commitment to the T1D community. Due to immense support from TCOYD, these young adults are able to attend this life-changing weekend and gain lifelong connections, support and tools to help them better care for their T1D.
“Community is the best thing that diabetes ever gave me, and conferences like TCOYD ONE conference make life with diabetes easier, healthier and filled with hope,” said Carmen Dunlap, a CDN Chapter President and student member who will be attending the conference this August.
TCOYD provides cutting-edge information and action-inspiring motivation to help people living with diabetes take control of their health. This national organization brings the diabetes community together to support and inspire one another by sharing their experiences first-hand.
“Our ONE conference and retreat is really unique in that it creates an atmosphere where people can learn from one another in a fun and welcoming environment,” said TCOYD Founder & Director Dr. Steve Edelman. “Our goal for this event is to show individuals living with type 1 diabetes that they are not alone and they can inspire one another to live their best life with diabetes.”
