Polyient Hackathon Enables Participants to Build a Business in Two Days
Developers, designers and others invited to tackle real-world, startup challenges using blockchain and other technologies.
Phoenix, AZ, August 02, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Phoenix-based Polyient Labs, an incubator fostering next-generation, blockchain innovations, is sponsoring its first-ever Hackathon August 23rd - 25th as part of San Diego Startup Weekend.
The two-day Hackathon takes place at Walmart’s Innovation Lab in Carlsbad, California and is expected to draw about 100 participants including developers, designers, entrepreneurs and others representing a gamut of blockchain, fintech and legal tech companies.
Working in cross-functional teams, participants will be given a series of complex, operational challenges they will need to resolve by deploying a variety of technologies in an allotted amount of time.
“Our goal is for participants to learn about the startup creation-process by basically - in a single weekend - building a business,” says Nick Casares, Polyient’s Product Director. “Teams will encounter challenges that are common to startups including the need to craft airtight business cases, test ideas and assumptions, and position products and services. That is goal number one. Goal number two is we want people to have fun doing it.”
A team of seasoned tech professionals and founders have volunteered to serve as coaches, mentors and judges.
All solutions devised by the teams during the Hackathon will remain their intellectual property, meaning they can continue to nurture the ideas once the event is over. And, in cases where the solutions offer strong market potential, Casares says, Polyient executives may work additionally with the teams to help bring them to life.
Although availability is limited, Casares says slots are still open. Learn more about San Diego Startup Weekend and learn how to participate in Polyient’s Hackathon here.
