The Jeff Carlson Band to Celebrate New Album "Second Chance" at House of Blues in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV, August 01, 2019 --(PR.com)-- The Jeff Carlson Band is proud to announce their return, bringing a new hard rock / metal sound to fans with the release of their long-awaited EP, "Second Chance." The record is set to be released on Tuesday, August 6 through Potomac Records and The Orchard.
The band will be celebrating the release of the album, and the new video of the title track, with a big show on Friday, August 23 at the House Of Blues, 3950 S. Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas, NV.
The title of the new album is a very personal statement for Carlson. In 2001, he was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, as well as Crohn’s disease. He had fallen ill, and was rushed to the hospital to have emergency surgery, where he actually died for almost three minutes on the operating table. He then underwent four more surgeries, and still continues to deal with both of these diseases today. Carlson says, "Sometimes life gives you a second chance! Not always, but sometimes. It’s what you do with those second chances that counts."
The release of the new EP will connect with rock audiences everywhere who love the '70s and '80s classic rock scene. Carlson says, "The band’s no-nonsense, high-energy, straight-ahead rock music is built around our killer rock and roll live performances. And guitarist Robbie Wolfe and I are the band's Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. Some of the highlights on the album are the way my vocals came out. I give Robbie all the credit in that department. He is a genius in not only arranging, but layering vocal harmonies, adding different parts such as strings. Robbie also writes great lead guitar solos that you can actually hum, almost like another vocal-line to play to the song and to make it as good as it can be."
The band recently signed with career strategy, artist development, and publicity team Big Noise (Alice Cooper, The Beach Boys, Christina Aguilera, Red Hot Chilli Peppers), and is working with Guitarz Forever Music Mktg. & Promotion (Shrapnel Records, George Lynch, Eric Gales, Paul Gilbert) to give this new album the push it needs to get the band to the next level.
Carlson met and started playing in the band Liquid Skye with Wolfe and Cory Kay from 1998 until 2004. In October of 2017, the band leader flew out to Las Vegas to shoot his a video and record the band’s first release on Potomac - "Never Be Another You" with Wolfe, and shot the video in the same week as he recorded the song. Because of that, Jeff and his wife moved back out from Tucson to Vegas in June of 2018. With the addition of new drummer Mike Mitlyng, the Jeff Carlson Band was born in 2018.
Carlson and the band have shared the stage with such notables as Tesla, Slash of Guns N' Roses, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Lita Ford, U.F.O, Lynch Mob, Slaughter, Bret Michaels, Y&T, Steel Panther, Sweet, Autograph, Firehouse, and Tora Tora.
