HDR Remodeling Names a Winner in Their Ugly Kitchen Contest
HDR Remodeling Awards East Bay’s Ugliest Kitchen to Oakland Homeowner.
Berkeley, CA, August 03, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Last month, HDR Remodeling held an Ugly Kitchen Contest for East Bay Area homeowners in Berkeley, Alameda, Albany, El Cerrito, Kensington, Oakland and Piedmont area. The contest, which ended on May 31st, encouraged residents of the East Bay Area to submit photos of their kitchens in dire need of a renovation to HDR Remodeling with a brief description of why they thought they should win the Ugly Kitchen Contest.
The lucky owner of the winning kitchen was Rebecca Cisin with her outdated kitchen. About a year ago, Rebecca and her husband purchased their first home, a 1940’s Oakland bungalow with lots of original charm and several dated rooms, ugly kitchen included. The ugly kitchen has four different ugly tile patterns, including dirt-colored fruit imprinted tiles behind the stove and even broken floor tiles. The cabinets don’t close properly, there is limited counter space, and the refrigerator sticks out from its post into the doorway. Additionally, the kitchen is a hazard with no vent hood, resulting in the smoke detector getting set off whenever they cook. This in turn makes their dog go completely crazy. As if this were not enough, the kitchen is also the laundry room, housing a large washer and dryer that takes up a significant amount of space.
Rebecca says, “We love to cook but our dysfunctional kitchen makes it very challenging. We desperately need a kitchen remodel!” She adds, “The last time our kitchen saw any attention was probably well before we were born.”
For her ugly kitchen submissions, Rebecca won a cash prize of $250 and $1000 towards an HDR Remodeling kitchen remodel so she can kiss her ugly kitchen good-bye and indulge in her love for cooking in a newly remodeled and custom kitchen designed and built for her needs.
