Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale Instructor Wins Consortium Fellowship
Janet Gold adds another award to her long list of accomplishments.
Ft. Lauderdale, FL, April 04, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Janet Gold, an artist and instructor at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, has struck gold, again, winning the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship for Visual Media Artists. This is the second time she has one this award.
Chosen from more than 350 applicants throughout South Florida, Gold’s work was recognized by a national panel to be one of four Broward County recipients.
Gold began teaching at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 1997. Her courses include: Drawing & Perspective, Life Drawing, Design Basics, Color Application, and Creative Thinking. Janet holds a M.F.A., from Miami International University of Art & Design; and a M.Ed., from Florida Atlantic University.
In addition to teaching at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Gold is a professional artist, photographer, curator, journalist; curator for FAU and BCC “Altered States;” curator 2+3 Art Basel “Sacred Spaces;” “Masters Mystery,” University of Miami; “Baker’s Dozen Collage Exchange,” New Zealand. Janet will have an upcoming exhibition in the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale.
The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, established in 1968, awards Bachelor of Science degrees in Advertising, Media Arts & Animation, Culinary Management, Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Game Art & Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Photography, Visual Effects & Motion Graphics, and Web Design & Interactive Media; Associate of Science degrees in Animation Art & Design, Baking & Pastry, Broadcasting, Culinary Management, Graphic Design, Photography, Video Production, and Web Design & Interactive Media; and Diplomas in the Art of Cooking, Graphic & Desktop Design, Photography, and Residential Design. The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale is approved for the training of veterans and eligible veterans’ dependents and is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students.
