VIU Student Participation in SAM 2008 International Business Conference Transnational Innovation Alliances for Sustainable Energy Development: A China-Centric Venture

Alexandria, VA, April 04, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Virginia International University (VIU) MBA students have joined Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) MBA students in presenting papers on the topic of Global Sustainable Energy Innovation at the 2008 Society for the Advancement of Management International Business Conference on Innovation.

This research project is centered on the China Three Gorges Project and Global Sustainable Energy and Economic Security. The paper in the Global Session of the conference will explore and examine socio-political, economic, cultural, and organizational dimensions and the challenges of and opportunities for transnational innovation models in an effort to gain insight into building global partnership to address global energy security issues.

Students have been working for almost one year as part of the Managing on the Edge course in the VIU and Lally MBA programs. This activity has been sponsored by the LMI Research Institute where Lally School’s professor Tom Triscari serves as a Distinguished Visiting Scholar. Professor Roger L. Powell, the chair of VIU’s Business Programs Department has spearheaded the effort at Virginia International University.

SAM 2008 International Business Conference is going to be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Key Bridge Marriott Hotel in Alexandria, VA.
