Greater Los Angeles Writers Conference Features “Sharknado” Director Ferrante

Los Angeles, CA, August 15, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Best-selling authors, editors, publishers, literary agents, publicists and film industry experts are slated to gather for the 23rd Annual Greater Los Angeles Writers Conference from Friday, Aug. 16 through Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Doubletree Hotel in Culver City, Calif. The programs feature a progression of educational lectures, panels and interactive workshops for each level of expertise.

In addition to workshops with writer-friendly topics such as, “Writing a Best-Selling Memoir: Biographies That More Than Just Your Family Will Read” and “Great Beginnings for Nonfiction Books: Your First Line, First Pages,” the conference will have pros on hand to engage with attendees about their current drafts in one-on-one pro-critiques ("Great Beginnings Live Read and Critique").

“We’re excited to have the director of the 'Sharknado' movies, Anthony C. Ferrante, with us this year,” said Tony Todaro, the conference organizer and President/Co-Founder of the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society (GLAWS). On Saturday, Aug. 17, Ferrante will engage in an on-stage interview with writer-producer Joel Eisenberg, revealing the evolution and direction of “Sharknado” from pitch to execution. Clips from the series will be screened with live commentary, as well as a preview from "Zombie Tidal Wave," Ferrante’s latest feature, which will premiere that same evening on the SyFy Channel. A Q&A session will follow, time permitting.
