SMC Corporation of America to Double Capacity of Its Sales Academy
SMC Corporation of America, a leading global pneumatics and industrial automation components manufacturer, will double the size of its Sales Academy program starting from January 2020. The SMC Sales Academy is a six-month curriculum designed and taught by professional trainers to develop Sales Trainees and facilitate their transition into Outside Sales positions.
Noblesville, IN, August 16, 2019 --(PR.com)-- The Sales Academy will double in student enrollment from its current twenty-four to 48 students. This will require expanding its infrastructure such as doubling the capacity of its on-campus residence hall, building more class rooms, more online software, and more training equipment for hands-on learning.
“The curriculum takes a minimum six month to complete because SMC products are technically based that demand product knowledge, and our Trainers supplement this with real world automation applications so we can best prepare our Academy graduates to use a solution-based selling approach.
"Our Academy students are also required to take courses in OSHA Safety training and Professionalism conducted in face-to-face classroom settings blended in with role playing scenarios. A large majority of our students are from the United States, but we’re seeing an increase in International applicants," says SMC National Training Manager, John Wardwell.
In the summer of 2018, SMC broke ground at its North American headquarters in Noblesville, Indiana and is near completion on a 1.0 million square-foot warehouse expansion to boost the total corporate, production and warehouse facility space to 2.6 million square feet.
