Adoptions From The Heart New Informational Material for Expecting and Birth Fathers
Wynnewood, PA, August 24, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Adoptions From The Heart (AFTH) has recently released new informational material specifically for expecting and birth fathers on parental rights and support services offered through the agency. Since the nonprofit agency’s establishment in 1985, AFTH remains a groundbreaking entity in the field of domestic adoption. Advocating for open adoption means recognizing and fighting equally for the rights of birth parents, meaning both birth mother and father.
For years expecting and birth fathers have felt excluded during the adoption process. More expecting and birth fathers started to resent the adoption process due to being mislead on vital information and/or received little to no emotional support from adoption professionals. AFTH addresses the common concerns and questions expecting and birth fathers have in following: Open Adoption Brochure , Frequently Asked Questions from Fathers, and Your Rights About Parenting and Adoption.
AFTH social workers actively encourage expecting and birth fathers to be part of the process from the start. Former expecting and birth father clients have expressed gratitude for the guidance and consistent communication provided to them throughout their child’s life.
“Adoption isn’t what I thought. I didn’t understand about open adoption and how involved I could be. I thought the social workers would only care about the mother, but they cared about me too. I have visits with my son and love getting pictures and updates,” said Derrick, a birth father who placed his son for adoption with Adoptions From The Heart.
The informational materials for expecting and birth fathers were created in collaboration with AFTH social workers and the in-house marketing director. Frequently Asked Questions from Fathers and Your Rights About Parenting and Adoption are available on the nonprofit’s website: https://afth.org/pregnant/info-for-fathers/ . The Open Adoption brochure for birth fathers can be located on the AFTH website as well through the following URL : https://bit.ly/2MiZOeY
