Neurology Associates Earns MRI Certification from Intersocietal Accreditation Commission
The designation not only guarantees that Neurology Associates adheres to and complies with stringent MRI standards and practices, it also extends coverage to patients insured by Medicare.
Chandler, AZ, August 25, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Neurology Associates, an advanced neuroscience center, has earned its inaugural three-year accreditation for its in-house magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
The designation not only guarantees that Neurology Associates adheres to and complies with stringent MRI standards and practices, it also extends coverage to patients insured by Medicare. No longer does this important, often stressed, demographic have to endure the frustrations of scheduling MRI appointments with different providers, waiting days, weeks or even months to undergo needed imaging, or seeking preauthorization.
“Dealing with brain and spinal issues, especially when answers aren’t yet available, is nerve-wracking enough,” said Ali Hajaig, founding partner and CEO of Neurology Associates. “We wanted to give all patients an easy, fast, way to access MRI imaging so they get information about their health sooner rather than later.”
Specifically, Neurology Associates holds MRI accreditation in the following areas:
· Magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) – Evaluates abnormalities and disease processes of blood vessels in all parts of the body
· Neurological MRI – Images the brain and spine in 2D and 3D
· Musculoskeletal MRI – Visualizes, detects and stages a range of musculoskeletal disorders
These capabilities further strengthen Neurology Associates’ expertise in diagnosing and treating conditions including Alzheimer’s and other dementia syndromes; autonomic disorders; movement disorders including dystonia and Parkinson’s disease; multiple sclerosis; nerve damage; mental status changes; and more.
Medical offices and institutions such as Neurology Associates that earn IAC MRI accreditation do so only after completing an extensive, intensive analysis. The IAC reviews and assesses a variety of factors including:
· Licensed, trained doctors and MRI technologists
· Type of MRI in use
· Administrative and clerical support
· Facility safety
“Pursuing IAC MRI accreditation does not guarantee a practice will receive it,” said Neurology Associates’ Andrea An, MD and certified board neurologist. “We’re very proud that our people, technology, processes and setting more than meet the requirements set by the IAC. This certification gives our patients even more assurance that we are committed to delivering the best possible care.”
Neurology Associates’ SIGNA High Definition Magnetic Resonance (HDMR) system comes from GE Healthcare, one of the world’s top MRI manufacturers. The scanner reduces the length of time needed for an MRI exam and, at the same time, improves the quality of the anatomical data compared to many other machines. Perhaps most importantly, the SIGNA HDMR makes MRI exams more comfortable for patients, especially those who have difficulty holding their breath during certain procedures.
Neurology Associates officially attained its MRI accreditation on Aug. 14, 2019, which lasts through Aug. 31, 2022.
