Tampa Bay Charities Celebrate and Honor Those Making a Difference at Charity Coalition’s 5th Anniversary
Clearwater, FL, August 30, 2019 --(PR.com)-- On September 14, the Tampa Bay Charity Coalition will celebrate 5 years of service to the community at their Anniversary Banquet. Hosted by the Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization at the historic Fort Harrison, over 100 charities are expected to participate.
The Charity Coalition serves the purpose of bringing charities and groups together to build contacts and share resources. Since its founding, the coalition had grown to become a network of over 250 charities. These groups assist various field including human rights; homelessness, education, youth and many more. They are the game changers for the Tampa Bay area, and ultimately the hidden heroes that dedicate themselves to improve our community.
Local youth charities will open the event with performances, including a performance by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Police Athletic League Drum Line and a showcase of traditional Mexican folk dancing by the Groupo Folklorico Mahetzi.
“We like coming to the Fort Harrison," said the founder of Groupo Folklorico Mahetzi, Mere Serrano. “I believe that it is good for the youth of my group to see and meet the other charity members. Everybody in the coalition is trying to share their skills to help others, it gives me hope for their future to see what we can do together.”
To acknowledge those charities and their work, the Tampa Bay Charity Coalition created two awards. The first one – the Smile Maker Award – is for youth who made a difference in their community in 2019. Adults are eligible for the bronze, silver, gold and diamond Making the Difference Award.
“This celebration is about the charities and the impact that each one of them has in our community,” said Chevrot. “The crime rate for the Tampa Bay area has been lowering over the past few years. Factually, per Safewise’s list of the 50 safest cities in Florida, 4 of them are located in the Tampa Bay area and one of them was in the top 10. Charities are a key element to that decrease; they represent hope and change for the next generation.”
If you would like to nominate a youth or an adult for the awards please contact Clemence Chevrot at clemence@cos.flag.org. If you would like tickets for the event you can RSVP online at www.eventbrite.com/e/charity-coalition-5th-anniversary-celebration-tickets-69931955361
