Dress for Success Tampa Bay Holds Excess Inventory Sale
Tampa, FL, September 07, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Would you like to expand your wardrobe without breaking the bank and still be able to contribute to a local nonprofit organization in the process? At Dress for Success Tampa Bay’s semi-annual Excess Inventory Sale from Friday, September 20 to Saturday, September 21, you’ll find high-end clothes at discount prices, with all proceeds going back to the nonprofit organization.
Executive Director Katie McGill said, “Your purchase supports our mission of empowering women to achieve economic independence. Proceeds from this sale will allow us to purchase much needed plus-size business attire and larger-size shoes, as well as help with boutique expenses.”
The Excess Inventory Sale will be held at Bayshore Baptist Church at 3111 West Morrison Avenue in South Tampa. Hours are Friday, September 20, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, September 21, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cash is preferred, but credit cards are accepted with $25+ purchases. All sales are final, and no children are allowed. Dress for Success Tampa Bay encourages shoppers to go green and bring their own shopping bag.
"The sale is an excellent opportunity to build your wardrobe with beautiful clothes at unbelievable prices, while helping Dress for Success Tampa Bay in their mission to empower women,” said board member Suzanne Neff Mashburn.
Dress for Success Tampa Bay offers programs to help transition women toward self-sufficiency by addressing their social and economic needs in relation to work, home, and community. Since its inception in 1998, Dress for Success Tampa Bay has suited more than 25,000 women. In 2018 alone, the nonprofit assisted more than 2,000 women, and volunteers reported over 1,500 hours of service.
Although known primarily for providing interview attire for women, the nonprofit also provides career search and job skills assistance. The results of these programs are clear: 90 percent of the women in Dress for Success Tampa Bay’s Professional Women’s Group have retained their jobs after one year, while 25 percent have been promoted and received job increases. 62 percent of the women have improved their credit and 80 percent opened a checking account. In addition, approximately one third of the women furthered their education by enrolling in or completing a GED or college program.
With only three employees and many volunteers, Dress for Success Tampa Bay relies on grants, donations, and fundraising events to continue offering services locally. General donations can be made via PayPal at https://tampabay.dressforsuccess.org, and up-to-date sale information will be posted on the organization’s Facebook page at facebook.com/dressforsuccesstampabay.
