Pittsburgh, PA, September 12, 2019 --(PR.com)-- 5A Elite Youth Empowerment invites one and all to be part of this year’s International Peace Week: Pittsburgh 2019. This weeklong event connects local peace building efforts to a global movement of peace. In recognition of the September 21st, International Day of Peace, this entire week is dedicated to non-violence, intergenerational peacebuilding, and youth led social innovation. 5A Elite staff and student leaders from our PeaceBuilders Youth Fellowship for Social Change and Sustainable Solutions will engage the City of Pittsburgh through collaborative initiatives and activities that help foster sustainable peace for a sustainable future.
Things kick off on Saturday, September 14 with the first of four Deliberative Forums. Hosted at the Allegheny County Department of Human Services Downtown Pittsburgh, the Youth Power Strategy and Agenda takes a deep dive into student led governance models for sustainable peace. The goal is to end the day with a March for Sustainable Peace directly following the forum. The Forum will take place from 1:00-3:00 p.m., in the Rachel Carson Room.
