The PLATO Society of Los Angeles Announces Its New Leadership for Fiscal Year 2019-2020
Los Angeles, CA, September 15, 2019 --(PR.com)-- The PLATO Society of Los Angeles, a Domestic Nonprofit Organization, with 501(c)(3) status is excited to announce its new leadership for the 2019-2020 fiscal year.
Sam Pryor will be the President.
Sam is a graduate of Yale Law School, and a retired entertainment litigator who is a site docent at the Getty Center, a student of Tai Chi, a teacher of meditation and a former president of the Board of Directors of Break the Cycle. Sam has found PLATO a wonderful way to continue to learn and to share his love of learning-in the company of many other congenial, bright, and curious people. “If the keys to a happy life include continuing to find intellectual stimulation and social interaction,” Sam said. “I could not imagine a better environment for me than the PLATO Society - or for any of us who love to continue to learn.”
Jack Samet will be the Vice-President and President-Elect with duties that include supervising registration, coordinating with the Past President’s Council, supporting the President, and preparing to assume those duties the following year.
Jack is a retired lawyer, a graduate of Harvard Law School, who argued and won a case before the United States Supreme Court. He was the partner in charge of an office and a member of the governing committees of two large law firms. For brief periods after retirement, he was an actor and a stand up comedian. At PLATO, he has been the Ombudsman for the past three years. He very much enjoys PLATO and will readily admit he has learned much and made valued new friends during the eight years he has been there.
Naidu Permaul will be the Secretary.
Naidu spent his entire career working in various aspects of Human Resources for Los Angeles County. Separately, he served as Treasurer of his local Community Council, President of the Optimist Club, President of a community beautification organization and member of an Institutional Review Board at Cedars Sinai Hospital responsible for the review and approval of human subject clinical trials.
Sheri E. Ross will be the Treasurer.
Sheri E. Ross has been a neutral since 2005. She is a member of the arbitration panels of the American Arbitration Association, Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, California State Mediation and Conciliation Service, National Mediation Board, FINRA, Kaiser Permanente, and various Employee Relations and Civil Service Panels. She has prioritized on time for PLATO for the past 13 years to coordinate dozens of classes as well as serve as chair or member of various committees. Sheri holds an MBA in Finance from UCLA and prior to becoming a neutral engaged in turnaround work in the private sector.
