About the Author
Robert H. Brown III enrolled at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1968, majoring in Sociology and Secondary Education. During his Sophomore year, Robert was drafted into the U. S. Army. His service included a tour of duty in Korea. Robert served as a communications specialist and supervisor. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Robert served one year with the Tennessee Army Reserves and five years with the Tennessee National Guard which included service in Desert Storm. For his service in Desert Storm, Robert received the Bronze Star Medal. Robert attended college at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and in June 1976, Robert earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Secondary Education. Robert worked almost 14 years for the Chattanooga Recreation Department as a recreation specialist and center director. After his years with the recreation department, Robert desired another career and he then worked 17 years for the Tennessee Department of Children's Services as a juvenile probation officer, case manager, and team leader. In his service for the Lord and to his fellow man, Robert has served as an ordained deacon, ordained elder, greeter, Sabbath School teacher, assistant Sabbath School superintendent, and song leader/assistant minister of music. Robert is married to the lovely Barbara A. (Williams) Brown, formerly of Bluefield, West Virginia. Because of his desire to be a blessing to others, Robert wrote Tradition Versus Truth and he prays that this endeavor will be a help to someone.
