Scottsdale, AZ, September 26, 2019 --(PR.com)-- The Desert Foothills Theater invites community members to don their costumes and join the organization for its Oct. 27 Masked Madness Fundraising Gala.
“Wear your full masquerade attire (your Halloween costume will be fun!) and join us for drinks, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, entertainment, games, a silent auction, dessert auction and a live auction,” says Tia Wooley, managing director of the Desert Foothills Theater. “Win prizes, join in on the costume contest and enjoy great food while having fun with the theater people!”
Masked Madness 2019 supports Desert Foothills’ scholarships, education and productions for its season and is hosted by David Simmons of the UBU Project. The fundraiser will be at the Holland Community Center, 34250 N. 60th St. Bldg. B, Scottsdale 85266 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and tickets (starting at only $20) are available at www.dftheater.org.
The Desert Foothills Theater also will present “Freud’s Last Session” for one performance on Oct. 18, 7 p.m., in the Holland Community Center. Legendary psychoanalyst Dr. Sigmund Freud invites the young, rising Oxford Don C.S. Lewis to his home in London. On the day of entering World War II, Freud and Lewis clash about love, the existence of God, and the meaning of life, just weeks before Freud took his own life. This is a deeply touching play filled with humor and exploring the minds, hearts and souls of two brilliant men addressing the greatest questions of all time. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at www.dftheater.org.
Theater education classes are offered for afterschool as well as for adults. The Desert Foothills Theater offers classes on beginning acting, film making, set building, improv, playwriting, intermediate acting, and advanced acting. Information on these classes is on the website, www.dftheater.org, under the education section.
The award-winning Desert Foothills Theater has been presenting live performances in the far north Valley since 1975. For tickets and more information about upcoming events, visit www.DFTheater.org or call 480-488-1981.
