"Moscow Ballet" Ballerina Models for Rose State Art Students

A ballerina from the Moscow Ballet will pose for Rose State College art students, and members of the community as part of the Moscow Ballet's "Art, Drawing and Dance" program. This event will feature ballerina Bogdana Kopiy holding classical ballet poses, and will give students, and other artists, access to a live subject that is rarely available.

Midwest City, OK, September 27, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Students and community members will have an opportunity to draw or photograph a classically trained ballerina during the Moscow Ballet’s Community Engagement Program, “Art, Drawing and Dance” on September 30 at the Rose State College Hudiburg Chevrolet Center. The “Art, Drawing and Dance” program brings world-acclaimed ballerinas to the classroom, allowing students and artists to draw or photograph the performers holding classical ballet poses. The program aims to further connect the relationship between the static fine art, with the live-action of ballet movement. Posing for students during this stop on tour will be celebrated ballerina Bogdana Kopiy.

Bogdana Кopiy has performed with Moscow Ballet for three tours and serves as the Moscow Ballet Soloist and Audition Director. Kopiy received a Ballet Artist and Dance Educator degree from historic Lviv National University of Culture and Arts and has a special diploma in Choreography from Ivan Franko National University. Kopiy is a young choreographer who enjoys working with dancers and performed in numerous ballets and ballet competitions.

“I believe this is a very unique opportunity for our students,” said Suzanne Thomas, an Art professor at Rose State College. “Having a professional ballerina from Russia come to our school, and model for us is not something that happens every day. I know we are really looking forward to this sharing this with Rose State art students, and also the community learning center art students as well.”

This Live Drawing event will take place on September 30, 2019, from 10:00 am – 11:15 am in the Rose State College Hudiburg Chevrolet Center. The event is free to Rose State College students and community members. Space is limited.
